First Sundays Returns at Wildlife Art Museum
First Sundays at the National Museum of Wildlife Art returns this Sunday, Sept. 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free for area locals (Teton County, Wyoming and Idaho, and Lincoln County).
On the first Sunday of the autumn and winter months, the museum organizes a family-friendly day with special programs and events connected to the exhibitions on view.
Kids Can Learn Astronomy at Library
Teton County Library is teaming up in September with Wyoming Stargazing for two events that will surely be a hit with kids.
Solar Astronomy with Wyoming Stargazing will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Youth Wing Outdoor Area. See the sun (safely) as you’ve never seen it before. Using solar telescopes Wyoming Stargazing astronomers will safely show attendees sunspots and solar prominances, and explain all the incredible details of our life-giving star.
"Planet Walk With Wyoming Stargazing" will take place on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. to Noon in the Youth Auditorium. Kids can walk through an accurately scaled-down model of our solar system and learn about the immense distance of space, plus different objects in our solar system, such as the sun, planets, dwarf planets, asteroids and comets.

Old Bill's Fun Run is Sept. 10
The annual Old Bill's Fun Run will be from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Jackson Elementary School field.
There is an untimed Fun Run/Walk, a timed 5K and 10K as well as a special Youth 5K timed run. Click here for more.

Get the kids' basketball on!
Jackson Hole Youth Basketball offers rec leagues, travel leagues, camps and clinics and partners with Teton County
Parks and Recreation and the JHHS Broncs to offer basketball programs throughout the year to boys and girls grades 1-12.
JHYB five-week fall skills clinics are open to boys and girls entering grades 1 to 8; the clinics start Sept. 12. Coaches will provide instruction in all aspects of basketball with an emphasis on skill development including shooting, ball handling, defensive and offensive footwork, rebounding, and passing.
Grades 1 to 2 Co-ed: 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Mon/Wed @ Rec Center Gym; cost is $60
Grades 3 to 4 Co-ed: 4:50 to 5:50 p.m. Mon/Wed @ Rec Center Gym; cost is $60.

Go stargazing at Stilson: The first Thursday night of every month!
Wyoming Stargazing offers free, year-round, public stargazing events on the first Thursday of each month in the northwest corner of the Stilson lot behind the bus hut where there are no lights. There is a $10/person recommended donation.
Astronomy educators use one of their large aperture telescopes to show you planets, stars, planetary nebulae, galaxies, and more. There are also several iPads with the Star Walk application installed on them so you can explore the heavens while others are looking through the telescopes. Throughout the night astronomy educators will tell you everything you want to know about the objects you are viewing and answer all your other questions about astronomy.
