Summer Fun!

Play disc golf

The free disc golf course up at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is an excellent way for the family to have fun and hike at the same time.

Redesigned in 2015, the course starts uphill from the bottom of the gondola. It starts out short and technical, with tunnel and treed shots. It winds back and forth up lower Gros Ventre and Tramline, shooting in open fields and tightly wooded areas.

The design incorporates three loops, each going a bit higher up the mountain. The lower 9- to 10-hole course can be played fairly quickly. Complete the upper loops for the full 18 holes,  including some amazing downhill shots.

Bouldering and the Town Pump

Bring the kids over to Teton Boulder Park in Phil Baux Park for some summer fun, and also consider participating in the Town Pump.

The Town Pump is summertime bouldering series competition. Held from 6 to 8 p.m., it starts in early June and runs on successive Tuesday evenings throughout the month. A youth division is available for climbers under age 14. This weekly event generates money for climbing holds for the boulder park. Visit jhtownpump.org

Take a swim at R Park...

If you haven't checked out the swimming pond at Rendezous Park (R Park), you need to! There's a sandy shore and the pond is perfect for swimming or simply cooling off your toes after biking there or taking easy hikes with the family on the trails in the park.

... or a hot soak at Granite Hot Springs or Kelly Warm Springs

The Granite Hot Springs pool is a big fave year-round but in summer you can make an entire day of visiting the area: swimming/soaking, picnicking, hiking and biking.

The water at Kelly Warm Springs is not nearly as hot—hence the name "warm"—but it is nevertheless a delightful way to enjoy some naturally warm water with bang-on Teton views!
